New Non Profit VALD CT
|New Non-Profit – Voices Against Lyme Disease CT|
As the newest nonprofit organization here in Windsor, we are proud to say our home is in the Oldest Connecticut Town, in a community with a great history and a strong commitment to its families. Windsor is working to provide everyone with a better quality of life.
Voices Against Lyme Disease CT was born out of a need to focus on and provide education and awareness to individuals, families, and communities along with our state representatives and beyond, regarding Lyme Disease and other tick-borne transmitted illnesses. These illnesses have been described by many to be at epidemic proportions similar to HIV/AIDS in the 1980s. It took a countrywide outcry for sufficient money to be allocated to the research and care for those with HIV/AIDS illness.
Other nonprofit organizations with a focus on Lyme Disease are hard at work closely aligned with Doctors and Scientists to identify more quality and quantitative testing results. These are important aspects of the illnesses and their immediate detection is a must. Voices against Lyme Disease CT is here to tell the “human” side of these debilitating diseases. How they affect individuals and their families. In addition, we are hoping to assist in the funding of research while at the same time working with state representatives to request state funding.
I hope you will join us in this fight by raising your voices against these horrible, debilitating illnesses!
